Personality:
Blunt: "No, stop trying to defy me. You should've considered the repercussions before, now you get to go replace the bedding in the Elder's Den."
Being a leader, Lionstar has certainly gotten used to telling cats no. Although he definitely doesn't enjoy it, he will gladly put on a straight face and get orders done if a rebellious cat refuses to listen to him. Additionally, he always makes sure to get to the point and not beat around the bush; he prefers to be straightforward, even if it means being brutally honest to his clan mates. He tends to be blunt when giving advice as well, or when he's at odds with another cat. But this way, at least he has no lies to tell.
Impulsive: "Sometimes you just have to think with your heart, not your head. And that's what I'm doing." Acting on how you feel can lead to wonderful or terrible things. Lionstar loves a good rush of adrenaline though, and sometimes he thinks that everything can just work itself out. He likes to call it 'thinking with your heart', but sometimes, Lionstar can be downright impulsive. He has done quite a few things in his past that he regrets, but during a rush of adrenaline, Lionstar goes for what he wants. This trait usually shows up just before Lionstar dives into another battle unneeded, sometimes at the border with perhaps another Clan. He'll defend himself and his family, without thinking of the consequences.
Overwhelmed: "I was fine, until you pestered me to my boiling point. Leave me be, I can handle this on my own."
Usually, Lionstar is good about balancing his responsibilities and still managing to love Clan life. But when he doesn't, this may lead to his downfall. Occasionally, he'll pile things up, and stress out. But despite this, he doesn't want to seem weak or irresponsible, so he bottles up his emotions until he gets so angry he lashes out. Lionstar rarely says no to a task, and loves a good challenge, but others urge him not to take on so much. Sometimes he becomes so preoccupied he forgets to care for himself.
Neutral: {Confident, Competitive, Flirtatious}
Confident: "I'm leader for a reason, I earned my place, and rightfully so. Others have come to love me being leader, and so should you."
Lionstar sometimes overestimates himself. But he makes sure not to brag too much about his skills, he knows it can get irritating for his Clan mates to have an arrogant SkyClan leader. One way this trait usually shows is how Lionstar always puts most battles and responsibilities on himself, considering he's leader. If there's foxes at the border, he'll dismiss the lot of a patrol and only keep one or two warriors to aid him. Whether this is impulsive or selfless, Lionstar likes to think he's taking one for the team.
Competitive: "You think you can run faster than I can? Pssh, yeah right. You're on, but I hope you won't be a sore loser."
Naturally, Lionstar is quite competitive. This can lead him to great things, or be a cause of one of his downfalls. He compares himself to the deputies of other Clans, regardless of their age or experience. This competitive nature sprouted from him and his brother when they were just kits ; him wanting to simply win a sparring battle with his brother, to him comparing himself to who was the strongest amongst the leaders of the Clans. This has lead to him pushing himself to his limits, or overwhelming himself entirely. Needless to say, he can occasionally come out to be a sore loser!
Flirtatious: "Wow, it's been a while since I saw a cat that lit up a room like you! What's your name, darling?"
Who says that just because he's a leader doesn't mean he's not a flirt? Lionstar knows when to stop, but don't be surprised if you hear him calling you a pet name on occasions. You can't really tell whether he's being genuine or if it's just his nature. One thing is for sure when it comes to Lionstar and felines though : he would never flirt with a cat who already has a mate, or anyone who isn't open to him making his occasional jabs. Although, Lionstar hasn't yet met the one lady he's ready to commit to yet, so for now he's content with flirting his way to find her.
Positive {Sociable, Affectionate, Graceful}
Sociable: "Hey there, bud. Saw you sitting alone, looks like you can use some company."
Lionstar finds it quite easy to slide into conversations. You won't often find him alone, he likes talking to others and surrounding himself with other cats. Even the shyest of cats would admit it's easy to get a conversation going with Lionstar. And if you're uncomfortable with speaking, that's fine. Lionstar will seize the opportunity and go on to talk about something that he perceives as important, but of course will take a minute to catch his breath and let you speak. In other words ; Lionstar can be quite the chatterbox! He loves interacting with creatures of all kinds, animals and clanmates alike.
Affectionate: "Ah no, darling, take my robin. A sweet cat like you takes priority over a rough and tumble guy like me."
Another trait that goes with him being a flirt ; Lionstar will let you know how much you mean to him, especially if you're having a bad day. Lionstar doesn't get very embarrassed when it comes to showing love for the Clan that supported him so much; or even for a loner or cat from another Clan that captured his heart. He has father-like instincts for his Clan ; while he knows he's still relatively young, he thinks of his Clan as his family, and the younger kits and apprentices as his own kits. He loves his Clan as if they were his own, and isn't shy when it comes to showing affection, whether it be physical or verbal.
Graceful: "Me? I just like to run, to leap, to be one with nature. The feeling of the air whipping through your fur as you leap from tree to tree, or the feeling of the moor under my paws.. ah. How can you not be fond of this?"
Whether it be leaping from rock to rock on a river, or racing through the trees, Lionstar is very graceful in his movement. His gait is very sure, he takes confident steps. This is one trait he's quite proud of, and chances are, if Lionstar's having a tough day, and not in camp, he's more than likely out on the SkyClan territory, running to his heart's content. You'll rarely see him tripping over his own paws, if ever, and his long, thick, banner-like tail helps him balance. Even if secretly Lionstar has no idea what he's doing, he executes it with grace, making it look like he has some knowledge of what he's doing.
History:
Friend-zoned | Pre-Birth
Long before Lionleap even existed, there was Coppereye and Strikefeather. Coppereye had chestnut-almost copper like, hence his name- eyes, and a beautiful deep orange pelt with amber stripes. His lower legs were a darker caramel color, and he had a tan underbelly and paws. Strikefeather gave her kits a lighter tone, for she was a white calico with umber and golden splotches covering her back, neck, and face. And her eyes were a beautiful hazel color with tints of green. Coppereye and Strikefeather weren't always in love, though. At least, one of them wasn't. Not yet. Coppereye and Strikefeather had been close friends for the longest time, and they still talked about their apprentice days together. Strikefeather had always thought of Coppereye as more of a mate than a friend though. But Coppereye thought they were just friends. That is, until he saw Strikefeather go through a tragic event. She had lost both of her parents, whom even he knew a bit, in a tragic battle against RiverClanners. From then on, he was caring and patient with her, and helped her get through this tragic death. There was a rumor that Coppereye didn't really want kits all that much, perhaps the responsibility was too strong for him. But gradually, he began to change his mind as he helped Strikefeather through the death of her parents. He began very gentle and close with her, and found he'd give a lot to make her smile. The two were really smitten with each other, and seemingly, Strikefeather was finally getting the attention she had craved from Coppereye for so long. Finally, one night, Coppereye lead Strikefeather out of campus on a beautiful, starry night to pop the question. Strikefeather had lost something grave, but something beautiful had sprung from it. She was not mated to Coppereye.
At first, their mateship was great. They were best friends and lovers. Streakfeather was always two steps ahead of Coppereye, though. He'd always want to take things slow, where she'd always want to take the next step. Things were complicated, but time and love worked it out. Streakfeather had wanted kits, and she had wanted them badly. She knew Coppereye wasn't exactly on board with kits, but she knew he'd be a great father. She began pushing him, and pushing him, and pushing him to have kits. She'd point out how other mates have already started a family. At first Coppereye would always dodge the decision of kits. He didn't really want them, and didn't want to have them only to abandon them or not give them the proper attention. He had quite a bit of doubt in himself. But little by little, he gave in. He'd spend more and more time near the kit den, helping queens and watching kits. He began to fall in love with him, how they always were energetic and full of life.
Yet there was still one small thought in his mind that was holding him back. By the time he decided he did want kits, Streakfeather was aging. And as she grew older, her fertility began to decrease. Coppereye would always have confidence that they'd be able to have kits, but Streakfeather wasn't so sure. Some nights the two would argue, over how if Coppereye would just agreed to kits a couple moons ago, everything would be fine, but now Strikefeather was worried and not happy. She was terrified of the idea of not being able to have kits. But once the two stopped arguing and focused on having kits, it wasn't long before Strikefeather was expecting. Leading up to the days of her pregnancy, Strikefeather and Coppereye were inseparable. Coppereye was over the moon about having kits ; simply elated. Then, Strikefeather became pregnant and the two had their first litter of kits ; a tiny ginger tom
,and a larger black tom.
| Kittenhood
It meant everything in the world for Lionkit to have a brother. The two were just like two peas in a pod ; they did everything together. They played moss ball together, slept together, ate together, and were practically inseparable. The first 5 or so moons after their birth, they had one big happy family. Blazekit was more quiet and reserved around other kits, and a bit shy as well. Despite this, just like all other kits, he was quite youthful, and kind. He was a smoky tabby, with eyes similar to his brother's : pigmented goldish orange. And if anyone could crack his shy shell, it was his rowdy brother, Lionkit. When they were together, the dark forest itself broke loose. They'd play pranks together, get in mischief together, basically do everything together. But gradually, things started to change. As Lionkit matured, he saw and felt Coppereye grow closer to the kits, not his mate. Little by little, all the times he would give his prey to Strikefeather, he'd instead give it to the kits. Lionkit loved the attention, but could sense his mother's unease. To make it worse, Lionkit would always have to see the fighting in front of his eyes. His parents tried to be subtle about their fighting, but it was more than obvious there was something wrong with the family. Yet this only pushed Blazekit and Lionkit closer together ; the more they had been through, the closer they got.
They confided everything to each other, spent a lot of time together. Just a few moons before the kits would mature into apprentices, they noticed their parents starting to become smitten with each other, yet again. They were confused as ever ; sometimes their parents argued until their tongues fell off, other times they'd curl up and share tongues, like their mate was worth more than StarClan itself. Soon, Lionkit began to notice peculiar traits about Strikefeather in particular. She was gaining weight, and becoming more moody. Sometimes she'd have odd cravings, and ate more. Soon they had gotten the news that they would be older brothers! Lionkit and Blazekit were ecstatic to have more siblings, hoping to share the close bond they held with their new siblings. As ecstatic as Lionkit and Blazekit were, they were also relieved their parents had decided to just stop fighting and focus on kits. The pressure was on for Lionkit and Blazekit, though. Coppereye was passive-aggressively acting stern towards them in more and more things. He'd expect them to be amazing apprentices, to learn lots from their mentors in a short amount of time. To win many sparring battles, to pass their assessments with flying colors. But as Strikefeather’s pregnancy progressed, all was well. The occasional bickers between Strikefeather and Coppereye ceased. And the whole family was soon brought together a few weeks before the birth ; the idea of new additions to the family appealed to everyone. Those kits died in the womb
Apprenticeship:
Lionpaw! Blazepaw! Lionpaw! Blazepaw! As Lionpaw was united with his family, he was incredibly proud. This moment was precious for him, and the fact that he got to share it with his brother meant everything to him. All the nerves, all the confusion, it all melted away. He had newfound freedom, he was able to go out into the territory and hunt. Excitement above all was the one emotion he felt for quite some time as he became an apprentice. One of the first cats he met at SkyClan camp was Morninglily. She was sweet, soft, and beautiful. She had a white pelt with multicolored eyes. Her right eye was a beautiful golden color that looked like honey, and her left eye was blue like the ocean. She was great at making Lionpaw feel at home, and soon she got Lionpaw to interact with more apprentices. Morninglily had always told Lionpaw that running was just like flying, except you moved with your legs, not your wings. As caring and compassionate as she was, she was also patient. But she would always encourage him, and was the ideal mentor. As the moons carried on, Lionpaw learned and grew. He also made sure to spend time with Blazepaw, whose mentor was a rough and tumble tom-cat named Risingheart. Risingheart was a dusty brown tabby. He had a few scars on him, but even Lionpaw had grown a liking to him, and he didn't even know him all that well. Lionpaw always felt better in his presence. Yet he began to notice that they had the same pressure he faced as a kit from Coppereye. And what's worse, he saw his parents began to argue, worse than he had seen when he was a kit. Coppereye was barely giving Strikefeather proper responses when she asked a simple question. It was even starting to annoy him.
One night, when he was visiting, a particularly nasty argument had erupted. It was so boisterous it had to be taken outside of camp, and no one was able to interfere. It was scary, Blazepaw had watched his family united and peaceful and now they were splitting up. That same night, his parents went their separate ways, and it was officially over. Lionpaw was extremely conflicted, but he and Blazepaw never talked about their family to fellow SkyClanners. That night Lionpaw was a mess, he wasn't able to focus on training at all. Morninglily knew something was wrong, and as she pulled him aside there was a turning point in their relationship. Lionpaw opened up to her, and a lot. He told her all about his family, and everything that was happening. Morninglily was like another mother figure for Lionpaw, and he enjoyed her presence thoroughly. One night, he was with Blazepaw and another warrior out on the territory, when he returned to camp he saw all the cats in a grief-stricken mood. Puzzled and terrified, Lionpaw asked around until he saw Risingheart's body, covered with scars and lacerations. Blazepaw was heartbroken, he had lost his precious mentor to foxes at the border. Risingheart had died a hero, and Blazepaw mourned him greatly. This was a terrible rough patch for Blazepaw, but Lionpaw was there the whole time. Then, the next time they visited their family, they found out they had lost their sister, Honeypaw, to a loner.
This was tragic for them, Blazepaw and Lionpaw relied heavily on each other, and they managed to pull through this. Blazepaw was assigned a new mentor, Deersky, and not even a moon later, both apprentices had finished their training, and pulled through their dark days together. They were now the newfound warriors
Lionleap! Lionleap! Lionleap was beyond elated to now be a warrior. Particularly a scout. He could go out into the territory by himself, and he could hunt by himself. His first night that he kept vigil with Blazeeye was so humbling. They stared at the stars and just snuggled together. He was always kept in check by his brother and ex-mentor. Lionleap began to become closer with nature, and on his bad days he would just run to SkyClan territory and run. He'd use powerful gusts of winds to propel himself forward, and nothing felt better than just running. Witheredfire loves his warriorhood, he talks to Morninglily a lot, and always goes and helps her with certain tasks. But soon, Lionleap began to become slowly more and more involved with his Clan. He offered to take on more hunting patrols, and soon he was assigned his first apprentice. The day he touched noses with his apprentices for the first time made him feel so excited. He was assigned Dovepaw, a silver tabby that was shy but kind at heart. Lionleap was much more extroverted compared to her, and at first was slightly nervous. After a couple of moons, Dovepaw grew on him and he loved mentoring the little goofball. She reminded him of his dear brother Blazeeye, in a way. Little by little, he taught her, trying different methods and trying to be the best mentor he could be, until she became a warrior. Nothing felt better than proudly telling the leader Dovepaw had passed her assessments and was ready to become a warrior, along with him. Lionleap then began to continue his tasks, until one night there came a time for the leader of SkyClan to choose another deputy. Less than two moonhighs later, Lionleap was now not only a warrior of SkyClan, but a deputy. Moons went on, and just when he was beginning to relax and get used to things, things took a bit of an unexpected turn. SkyClan had lost their beloved leader in a blizzard, leaving Witheredfire to step up to the plate and be known as Witheredstar. The thought of being a leader excited and scares him at the same time, but he's anxious and eager to comply and help his clan. The blizzard has also took the lives of many, particularly some close friends of the leader. He's still coping with this, and trying to help his Clan as best as he can through this bleak time.
