Ripples in the Water [Riverclan Main Camp Area]

Nightchaser finished off the last of his meal, taking a moment to clean himself. Rustling alerted him to his clanmates stirring, other late sleepers it seemed. Not far from him the familiar flank of Stormpelt emerged, the tom looking rather.. disheveled. He always did though. He was irresponsible in his efforts to serve, but Nightchaser was silent as he dipped his head in greeting form his shadowy spot. It was not his place to question anyways.. not him, no. He ran a tongue over his teeth, feeling their points as two apprentices approached, one towards him, the other making an angry beeline for Stormchaser.

Leaving Stormchaser to the ire of Barkpaw, Nightchaser slowly turned his gaze to meet the excited bright orbs of Citruspaw, tail flicking in silent greeting. It seemed that fortune was looking upon him, and Citruspaw had come to him before he to her asking after just what he had planned. If only he could fetch his own apprentice now and see if anyone else was still in the den. He nodded, dipping his head to her with a flick of his tail to curl it over paws. "I was planning some battle training, if you have nothing else to be doing. How far did you get in your training?"

Nightchaser flicked his ears as he noticed more cats waking and stirring into the main camp area. Creekwhisper was quick to join their apprentice, herbs bundled in the medicine cat's jaws as she joined her apprentice in speaking to the disgruntled and freshly awoken deputy. Featherpaw seemed to brush out of the apprentice den only a few moments after Citruspaw joined him, likely the she-cat woken by her clanmate's departure from the den. She was quick to join the warrior and apprentice in conversation when she overheard him mention battle-practice, and he dipped his head in quiet approval of her eager request. "If your mentor is fine with that" Nightchaser murmured softly, watching her demonstrate with quiet yellowed eyes.

Amber irises flicked as the mentor in question seemed to take notice of the interaction, Nightchaser flicking his tail in greeting as Brightstar padded over. It seemed the she-cat had been quick to begin training, and while clumsy and basic, Featherpaw already knew a handful of moves. He was just glad that, for the most part, the apprentices were all starting together and he didn't have to worry about one accidentally hurting the other because they were farther along. He was going to have enough problems trying to figure out how to go about doing this training to begin with.

Wrapping his tail around his paws, Nightchaser glanced at Stormchaser and the medicine cats again as he answered Brightstar with a flick of his ear. "Battle training perhaps..." Drifting silence seemed to suggest an option there to approve, or to offer a different suggestion if such was not recommended. Idly he wondered if he should invite the leader along since her apprentice was eager to join, or if he should inquire Creekwhisper and Barkpaw. He wasn't sure what all was entailed in the differences between Medicine Cat and Warrior training but it seemed that a Medicine Cat apprentice still might need to learn to fight... Barkpaw was a bit older, but maybe that might be better? Hmph....

Voices drifted to Mudpaw's ears, causing them to twitch as he caught the voice of his step sister, Featherpaw. He blinked open his eyes excitedly, realizing that it was already mid morning, and jumped out of his nest. Without pausing to check his coat, he staggered into the clearing, his yellow eyes bright with joy as he spotted the gray tabby she-cat next to Citruspaw.

"Featherpaw!" he called, bounding over to the other apprentices. "Hey! What do your mentors have planned today?" The tabby apprentice purred as he stood next to Featherpaw, gazing at her with his friendly orbs. He glanced over at Nightchaser sheepishly, wondering what his mentor would say about his late awakening.
