Name: Appleheart
(Applekit, Applepaw, Appleheart)
Age: 40 moons
Gender: Female
Clan: ThunderClan
Rank: Medicine cat

Visual
---------------------------------
Formal Discription: Appleheart is built like a traditional ThunderClan warrior and remains oddly muscular for a medicine cat. Her eyes are a pale bronze-green color, almost the color of olives if cats knew what those were. She possesses a relatively thin coat of calico fur, the patches of orange and black being relatively uniform as opposed to mottling -- save for the molly's face, which is mostly black with brief undertones of orange. The white fur exists in a mask-and-mantle pattern, covering her belly, chest, up across her muzzle and wrapping around her neck. She also possesses a single white paw -- her right forepaw -- and a white tail tip. Under her fur lie the tight and toned muscles, sculpted from careful and meticulous lone training; while not the best cat for the offensive, she can definitely hold her own in a defensive position.
Breed: Domestic shorthair
Summary Description: A calico she-cat with white fur on her chest and belly with olive eyes.

Personality: Appleheart has a sour attitude, one that is very unfitting for a medicine cat. She's prone to shouting at her patients and snapping at the poor apprentices and kits who decide to bother her; this leads to an overall uncomfortable experience within the medicine den for a lot of cats. She tends to try and get through a lot of tasks at paw without uttering more than a couple words. She's quick to make decisions and makes them with a rational and level head -- this makes her seem callous and rough, something her patients tend to understand as unfeeling and disconnected. To say that Appleheart doesn't care, however, is not entirely correct; she is a perfectionist at her core and has the express desire to be the best at whatever she does. She detests being a medicine cat to no end but she will be damned if she lets any of the medicine cats in the other clans show her up. Of course, without a desire to be a nun, it is very hard to keep up with cats who have dedicated every breath of their life to something Appleheart wouldn't have lifted a paw for 25 moons ago; she's not well respected among the others.
Her situation has left her fairly depressed, which she has to push through on a day-to-day basis without much support from the rest of her clan. She knows the importance of both her and her position, which is the only thing she truly clings to. In order to stay sane, she will often slink away on her own and do independent battle training, practicing the things she had learned as a warrior apprentice. These practices keep her spirits up, despite as a whole being in a pretty bad place.
History: Applekit held desire as a young kit to be a fearsome warrrior; she played with her siblings, often over-zealously and roughly in her conquest to be the best ThunderClan fighter that the clowders had ever laid eyes on. She was loud, boisterous and nearly never wanted to listen. Her parents Mosstail and Oakthroat encouraged her ambitions while doing their best to teach this wild-child some sort of manners. They managed to instill a deep respect for StarClan, as well as the clan's spiritual guides -- the medicine cats and leader -- by the time she turned six moons.
During her apprenticeship, Applepaw showed great promise and her mentor praised her determination and her striving ambition; Icefur was impressed by the molly's attention to detail and intense passion for battling. They worked through Applepaw's self-image, which managed to fall whenever she failed at a task, and reinforced responsibility. Applepaw would have likely been named Applestorm, Icefur would comment to the young apprentice, causing her to walk about with immense pride; Applepaw was on the path to becoming one of the greatest warriors ThunderClan had seen and she couldn't wait to train an apprentice of her own. Yet, upon the waning moons of her apprenticeship, possibly the most unlikely thing had happened in ThunderClan history; a sign was received that a medicine cat was destined to become the leader. As such, Hemlockbloom was immediately removed from his medicine apprentice position and placed as a warrior apprentice.
Hemlockstar ruined a lot for Applepaw; maybe it was really Stagbelly's fault, or perhaps even Jaystar's. It came to a head, not even a moon after the hemlock stem had appeared, that Stagbelly had received another sign. He woke up to the scent of apples one morning and the scent hadn't faded since; he finally felt confident to announce his revelation to the clan that Applepaw was to be the next ThunderClan medicine cat. The young calico molly was indignant about this; despite her respect for StarClan and ThunderClan, she called the old coot insane and spat venom at anyone who suggested her destiny was as such. She was a mere moon away from becoming a warrior; how could anyone say that she was going to be a medicine cat?
Mosstail and Oakthroat both coaxed her to the position, reminding her of the respect and dignity the role medicine cats hold in all clans. Her job as a faithful ThunderClan cat was to protect her clan at any costs, even if that meant abandoning her own desires and wants. After all, what good is a clan without their medicine cat? Her parents coaxed her to trust in StarClan and her spiritual leaders. Applepaw felt at her lowest when she crawled on her belly to the medicine den, asking for forgiveness for her venomous words. She couldn't look Stagbelly in the eye when she agreed to be his apprentice. She thanked Icefur for everything she had taught her and promised to never forget it -- nothing that she had taught the apprentice would go to waste -- and went to meet with StarClan to be accepted as ThunderClan's new medicine cat apprentice.
Training was difficult for her; Stagbelly grew impatient many times, almost as if he expected her to have a divine gift since she was destined by StarClan. Applepaw's self-image plummeted constantly and she grew bitter and hot-headed. She felt constantly insecure at the half-moon meetings for medicine cats, noticing how the much younger apprentices were already leaps and bounds ahead of her and how she just lacked a desire to get any better, no matter how much her own mind desired to excel at her tasks. Perhaps her one strength as a medicine cat is her ability to make quick and reasonable decisions and her steadfast resolve to not crack under pressure.
Despite her dissatisfaction and borderline incompetence with her career, after a few seasons of apprenticeship, Applepaw earned the name Appleheart from Stagbelly; he honored her selflessness for her clan with this name. The old tom mentioned that her heart knew, in the end, her paws were destined for the path of a medicine cat. For the betterment of the clan, Appleheart had to be willing to sacrifice her desires and ambitions to become a warrior, turning her mind entirely to a way of peace and healing. Stagbelly promised her that her sacrifices wouldn't be in vain and, in the end, her choices would amount to the same glory and pride as a warrior.
Appleheart never believed him. She hates this name; it remains as a constant reminder of the task she had been forced into.
Having been thrown into the world of being a medicine cat at the end of Stagbelly's life and career, she always felt a little unprepared in her job. She felt rushed by her mentor, as Stagbelly had seemed content giving Hemlockbloom -- by now, he was known as Hemlockfrost -- full control of the medicine den before he had fully retired. He managed to do the same with Appleheart and retired within a few moons of her naming. To this day, Appleheart doubts the judgment of StarClan and wonders if her mentor truly received a sign about her destiny, or even if he made it up just to have a replacement when no one else wanted the position. Since she has interacted with her ancestors, she understands that they are real; however, she believes they lack a divine right to have authority over living cats and that their signs and prophecies are mere advice, as opposed to righteous truth.

((This is a funny note, but I think both the medicine cat and the medicine cat apprentice in ThunderClan are dissatisfied with their job xD
@cosmic , let me know if there's anything I got wrong with the history or if there's anything you want me to change!))
