[Basics]:
Name:
Orientation: Pan
[Politics]:
Clan: Thunderclan| Current Rank: Warrior |
[Relations]:
Parents: Delilah x
[Personality]:
Generally: Hummingbird is quiet. She's a shy little cat who doesn't seem to do well in crowds. Perhaps with only one cat or a couple, but large groups of cats do make her slightly uneasy. Despite the fact she's been in the clan since a kit, she does feel outcast, being that she knows her mother was a loner. Hummingbird usually goes off on her own if she can, for walks or to hunt by herself. When in the camp she hangs out on the outskirts. If put on a patrol with other cats she is typically quiet, only speaks when spoken to. She's not one to pipe up and start conversations, you have to go to her. You'll start seeing glimmers of a friendly personality if you continue talking to her. Truth be told she's a very kind little cat who would like to get to know other cats, however she's much to shy and fears being made fun of.
When Hummingbird goes out on her own, walking by herself, if she thinks she's far enough away, where no one can hear her, she likes to sing. A little hobby of hers in a way. She'll probably never sing in front of anybody in her life, but this is not set in stone.
Once Hummingbird climbs out of her shell, you'll meet a sweet little cat who does like to have fun... that is if you can get her to open up. Regardless, she's a very sweet and caring cat, while she still keeps her shy smiles but the quiet personality is gone. She talks a bit louder, starts conversations, and likes to play games. She also shows a bit more of her other emotions, not hiding them so much. For example, when spooked(or annoyed) all her fur puffs up, and she looks like almost like a kitty puffball. Taking the saying 'ruffled feathers' to a cat equivalent.
Hummingbird doesn't believe in Starclan. As kit she was never told the stories and also the fact her mother never liked the ideas of Starclan. She willfully goes along with it, and finds the stories and ideas interesting none-the-less.
Currently: She's minding her own business, quietly on the outskirts of clan life.
[Visual]:
Breed: Mixed Breed (Somali mix)
Base Fur: A shade of Burnt Sienna
Build: Hummingbird is a very small cat, she never grew too much bigger than her apprentice size. She's got a small body frame, most of her is in fact fur.
Quick Description: A small, fluffy, red-orange she-cat with ticking.
Markings: Hummingbird has a dark red orange streak that runs from the top of her forehead, creating a stripe down her neck and back, all the way to her tail tip. The red orange also creates a 'collar' around her neck. Her underbelly is light beige, running from her 'collar' marking to the underside of her tail. The fur within her ears also share this light beige color. Three small stripes of the red orange cross the front of her chest in the beige, while brown brown ticking overlap these stripes, and cover her entire chest and fades out as they move up into the 'collar' marking and down her chest. Brown ticking also covers the area by top of her hind legs. Stripes of this same brown overlap the beige on her tail, whilst the red orange overlaps both the beige and the brown stripes. Hummingbird has three brown stripes on the top of her head, and some more subtle brown stripes framing the sides of her face. She also has a brown blaze on the top of her muzzle that tapers off between her eyes.
[History]:
Before the Clan: Hummingbird was born of a lone she-cat, in a litter of two. Delilah having been weak that season she was unable to have more than two kits. Her father was Ironstare from Shadowclan, and her mother, thinking well of the idea, named her kits following in the traditions of the clans that her mate had been from. To an extent, as she named them after things she fancied. As the kits grew in size, their mother never spoke of StarClan, feeling these were silly stories made by the clans. A few moons passed and while Rabbitkit was bigger and stronger than the the orange colored kit, a sickness overtook her and wasn't noticeable until later stages. It was a wonder that the sickness did not take Hummingkit. However, when her sister died, her mother decided that she could not take care of her kit well enough, if one died, then what good was she as a mother? So Delilah took her to the nearest clan and left her in Thunderclan's care. She told young Hummingkit to keep her head up and stay strong and that she'd be back some day. She never returned.
Within the Clan: At first, Hummingkit was a bit playful and so excited to have other kits to play with, but the other kits didn't really want to play with her. She was just the strange kit who wasn't from Thunderclan. Hummingkit, in turn stayed strong in order to do her mother proud but became more quiet and reserved. The disregard for her from the other kits made Hummingkit stick to herself even at this young age.
When it came time for her to be an apprentice, she remained the way she was, quiet but eager to please her mentor Dashingsky, the older cat quickly becoming a father figure to her. Hummingpaw was small, so while she did learn how to fight, she could(and can still) be easily over-powered in a battle. Seeing this, Dashingsky taught her how to use her small size to her advantage the best he could. Fighting was not really Hummingpaw's thing, she preferred hunting, able to utilize her smaller size to make less noise. Not that her small size made her less noticeable, the red stripe down her back and her brighter colors ensured that. However, she did well and made her mentor proud of her. In turn, as Hummingpaw improved she was accepted more by her fellow apprentices and clanmates. Seeing promise in the outsider, she was soon given the name Hummingbird, and made a warrior of Thunderclan.
In her short amount of moons as a warrior, Hummingbird still sticks to the outskirts of socialization, the ostracization she faced a kit still heavy in her mind. This is not the fault of the clan now, it is hers for not wanting to get in the way of other cats, and her unwillingness to start conversations. Otherwise, she is a valuable warrior to Thunderclan and does enjoy living in the clan. She acts as a warrior should, but while she is accepted more now she still doesn't feel as if she truly belongs here.
